🌿 Our Educational Philosophy 🌿
At Discovery Junction, learning is child-led, interest-based, and deeply rooted in nature.
We believe children thrive when curiosity leads the way — when their passions, questions, and discoveries shape their education. Each activity nurtures independence, creativity, and connection — not only to the natural world, but also to themselves and their community.
Our approach blends Montessori, project-based learning, and outdoor education, honoring each child’s rhythm, voice, and potential.

🌿 About Amber 🌿
Amber Thompson, founder of Discovery Junction Homeschool Co-op, has spent years developing nature-based programs for homeschool families across Florida. Her mission is to help families rediscover the joy of curiosity-driven learning through meaningful connection and outdoor exploration
🌿 The Story of Discovery Junction 🌿
Discovery Junction began as a small circle of families gathering outdoors to explore, learn, and grow together.
What started as a local co-op has now expanded to serve families across the Treasure Coast, Palm Beach, and Brevard County, Florida.
Our mission is to make community-centered, nature-based education accessible to families throughout Florida. We are actively working toward becoming an approved Step Up for Students provider, which will allow families to receive financial support for participation in our programs once approval is finalized.
🌿 Our Collective (Future Possibility for Flagler County) 🌿
We are exploring the potential for a future project called Nurturing Roots Collective — a farm-based, nature-connected learning initiative that aligns with Discovery Junction’s philosophy. This idea reflects our long-term vision of expanding access to hands-on, nature-focused educational opportunities as community needs, family circumstances, and resources allow.
Should this project come to life, it would offer children meaningful, land-based learning experiences that foster teamwork, creativity, faith, perseverance, and a joy for discovery. At this time, however, Nurturing Roots Collective remains an early concept and is not yet scheduled or confirmed.
Our hope is simply to continue exploring ways families might connect with nature, growth, and community in the future.
Through this vision, we aim to plant seeds for future generations of learners — where curiosity, stewardship, and creativity grow side by side.
