Discovery Junction is more than a nature school. It's a community built on curiosity, meaningful relationships, and the belief that children learn best when they're given the freedom to explore. Our approach combines hands-on science, child-led discovery, outdoor exploration, and family connection while honoring each child's individual developmental journey.

Where It All Began
In 2023, when my son was just two years old, I struggled to find homeschool programs that welcomed younger children. More than activities, I wanted a community where we could build friendships and find families to grow alongside throughout our homeschooling journey.
That desire led me to co-found Puddle Jumpers, a free, collaborative playgroup where parents took turns organizing weekly adventures. The friendships we built were lasting. My son and I are still connected with families from those original gatherings.
As the playgroup evolved, so did my vision. I founded Discovery Junction to preserve that sense of belonging while creating deeper opportunities for hands-on science, field investigations, and child-led exploration.
A Community That Grows With Your Family
One of my most intentional decisions was expanding our core age range to 2–10 years old. I wanted families to participate together rather than having younger or older siblings excluded because of their age.
Our mixed-age environment creates opportunities for younger children to learn by observing and exploring alongside older peers. In return, older children develop patience, confidence, and leadership as they guide younger explorers, share discoveries, and reinforce their own learning.
Today, Discovery Junction has grown into four nature-based homeschool communities spanning Northern Palm Beach County to Northern Brevard County. While our curriculum and investigative tools continue to evolve, our purpose remains the same: building lasting relationships while giving children the freedom to discover the natural world.
Every child has something to learn, and every child has something to teach.
Our Collective Vision
Discovery Junction continues to grow alongside the families who inspire it. Our long-term vision includes exploring a future farm-based learning project, Nurturing Roots Collective, designed to expand meaningful, land-based educational opportunities.
While this remains an early concept, it reflects the same philosophy that started our journey: connection, curiosity, and learning through real-world experiences.
